Fee Schedule

Do not compare apples to oranges! Fees between home inspectors vary, and as with most things in life, cheaper is not usually better! Purchasing a home is a major investment- do not shortchange yourself or a client over a few dollars! An inexperienced inspector, with a simplistic reporting format and no frills, trying to compete on cost alone, will naturally have a lower fee. Those of us who do this professionally on a daily basis, and have invested greatly in our continuing education, knowledge, and testing equipment, will naturally have a higher fee. Why would you want the cheapest inspector?

Value is in the competent inspection and report, not being the cheapest one around!

At M.K.I. Home inspections, the client receives a full narrative report, with a summary section, and illustrated digital photos. The report is in a binder, with a superb complete home maintenance book, as well as appropriate brochures such as carbon monoxide, mold, etc. Your inspector runs his business on quality, not quantity. The client gets the time and personalized attention a home inspection deserves. Quite frankly, you get the most thorough, well put together report around, by one of the most experienced inspectors around! There are also magazine articles relevant to found problems reprinted from our 20 year archive of the Journal of Light Construction, One of the best, if not the best, construction trade magazines available today! We go the extra yard!

NOTE: The below fees represent a full report, with digital photos, fully printed out, bound in a binder, and accompanied by a full home maintenance book. Please see our important information sheet regarding home inspector fees following this fee schedule. A home inspection is one of those things in life you get what you pay for. Don’t be fooled or lured in by cheap prices, which represent a low budget inspection and report.

Facts About Fees

I have a great article explaining the difference in fees and prices from Home Inspectors.

Email only Version

If you would like to reduce costs, you can order the e-mail only version, which would of course only include an e-mail version of the report. (No hard copy, no book) Deduct $25.00 from below fees for this option.
